YOUR INNER SWING

ImagineIt’s a perfect summer sunny day, with a few white fluffy clouds floating gently with the warm breeze. Two golfers playing the same golf course, the same hole, the same fairway, practically the same shot.

The first golfer …

…confidently pulls out his club, sets up to the ball looking at his target once or twice. He swings with perfect tempo, hits a beautiful high shot with an angelic effortless swing, to the middle of the green. He is smiling the entire time, reveling in his appreciation of the great game of golf.

The second golfer …

…uncertain of which club to hit, finally steps up to the ball, sets up, figits back and forth, starring down at the ball (for what seemed to be an eternity), finally he swings abruptly. His club digs into the ground 2 inches behind the ball. The ball flies up in the air making a diving splash in the pond 20 yards short of the green. He slams his club into the ground in frustration and stomps angrily towards the water.

So maybe you’ve never done that exactly,

…but have you ever witnessed it? I know I have and it didn’t add to my experience of the game. It only made me appreciate the game even more, and feel bad for Mr. Unhappy!

.

How many thoughts do you think you should have?

First of all, think positive! You must think of your thoughts in the positive sense for them to help you. Secondly, one to two thoughts is really all the brain can handle… and hit a golf ball in a second and a half. So focus on “what you want to happen” instead of what you don’t want. Lastly, choose a “target” thought rather than a “swing” thought for best result on the golf course. Look into Your Inner Swing for help with your outer swing.

Changing the way you think… July 7, 2008

Randy’s book helps you change the way you think about the game and embrace the challenges inherent in golf. i have found that getting yourself to really enjoy what you are doing (which is a big focus of this book) results in better scores.

Not just for golf! July 3, 2008

This is a great read and will greatly benefit all golfers looking to both enjoy the game more and to improve their quality of play. But more interesting, this book is beneficial to anyone (golfer or not) looking to find more satisfaction in their daily lives.

This is one of those books that should be kept close by and read often.
